SUSAN ARCHER, LCSW

CLINICAL DIRECTOR

Susan is a relaxed, non-shaming therapist with a practical and results-oriented approach. Her therapy practice starts with listening and understanding and then applying the interventions, techniques, and suggestions to make lasting changes. Whether it's working through trauma, addiction issues, or developing coping skills to manage life’s challenges Susan is most at home while in the therapy setting. She enjoys complex situations including PTSD, individuals with dual issues, complexity and deep grief. Treatment approaches she uses are cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, systems theory, EMDR, LENS neurofeedback, and others as needed.

MASON WHIPP, LCSW

ASSISTANT CLINICAL DIRECTOR

Mason works with individuals with substance abuse and mental health difficulties, and is trained in EMDR. She brings her own life experiences to counseling. Insightful and non-shaming, Mason’s an exceptionally good listener and she provides useful feedback and strategies for improving functioning using cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, and mindfulness. Mason enjoys working with people from all age groups.

WILL KENT, MSW, CSAC

PROGRAM THERAPIST

Will Kent is a Clinical Social Worker (Supervisee in Social Work) and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) who is currently working towards obtaining his Licensed Clinical Social Social Worker (LCSW). Will works with individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health needs. Will believes in drawing from passion, inclusion, creativity, human connection, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches to empower individuals to overcome challenges. He has experience performing comprehensive assessment and treatment placement; along with performing group, individual, and family therapies. He has received a Master’s in Social Work with a clinical concentration and a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University.

CARTER BAIN, MSW

PROGRAM THERAPIST

Carter Bain is a clinician who specializes in treating individuals with substance use disorders. He believes recovery is a journey –not a destination - and strives to act as a tour guide for people’s recovery journey. Carter uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help people with substance use problems and is well-versed in treating co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD. Carter uses motivational interviewing to challenge cognitive distortions while attempting to discover healthy coping mechanisms. In his free time, he likes fishing and watching sports. Carter is currently under supervision to obtain his LCSW.  He attended Virginia Commonwealth University’s Master of Clinical Social Work Program.

Jasmine Brown, MSW

Program Therapist

Jasmine works with individuals seeking services for mental health issues as well as substance abuse treatment. While holding strongly to values such as client integrity and self-determination. Jasmine works closely with our Intensive Outpatient program and builds a rapport with clients that cultivates trust and healing.

Ashley has been working at Archstone Counseling and Treatment since September 2021. With her years of experience in health administration and billing, she ensures our clients insurance and billing needs are met.

Taryn Fletcher

Office Manager

Taryn is a person in recovery that has 4 years of IOP administrative and billing experience.  She has worked in the addiction recovery field since 2012. Her work includes lobbying the 2013 General Assembly session – helping to pass the bill that made Narcan more accessible, organizing a local mayoral debate that focused on recovery, and peer recovery coaching. Taryn has a degree in Journalism from Northeastern University and in her spare time, she enjoys cooking and sewing.
