PRIVACY POLICY

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.
 

 

 

Exceptions include:

 

  • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse we have to follow legal requirements to report this to the appropriate authorities.
     

  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person we must act in compliance with clinical safety guidelines and the laws of our state. 
     

  • In the event a client is struggling with suicidal or self harm thoughts we will do a risk assessment to ensure the person is safe. If there is still a concern for safety we will take the necessary steps to assist the client in accordance with ethical guidelines and state law. 
     

  • We maintain compliance with HIPPA regulations and provide Informed Consent for all of our clients.  You will be given consent forms and a copy of HIPPA regulations when you come for your initial appointment.
